Trigger Point Injections for Chronic Pain

Chronic pain can be treated by trigger point injections for chronic headaches, neck and back pain and most other muscle/joint pain including fibromyalgia and other autoimmune inflammatory disorders.

Tight and sore muscles have trigger points of tenderness that cause pain and radiate into surrounding nervous tissue and pain. The local and radiating pain can cause more stress on the body leading to muscle spasm and continuing the cycle of pain. Trigger point injections can stop the pain cycle offering immediate and long term pain relief.

If you have any of these issues and chronic pain you may be a candidate:

-Chronic Stress

-Overuse at work or home

-Nutritional deficiencies

-Bad posture

-Chronic Fatigue and/or Fibromyalgia

-Myofascial Pain Syndrome

Dr Herscher has seen great success with trigger point injections with relief being immediate and typically lasting from 1-2 weeks with pain continuing to decrease. Typical solution used is 1% lidocaine, 50% dextrose and anti-inflammatory injectable homeopathics. Sometimes activated B12 (Methylcobalamin) is added in to improve nutrient flow to the area.

Trigger point injections can be billed to your insurance except for the cost of the homeopathics

and/or B12. For additional questions about it give us a call!
